Has anyone used or know someone that has use either Finasteride (Proscar, Propecia) or Dutasteride (Avodat) for hair loss treatment?
Did it work?
Side effects?
Cost?

Or if anyone else has used something different with reasonable results feel free to chime in...

Yes i know someone who has used Finasteride stopped him from going bald but for the cost of his career and health. I talked about it in the last thread about Finasteride.

I use it everyday mate at 1.25mg/day.(1/4 of a tab)
Definately works mate
No side effects for me
generic proscar is about $70 which lasts me 4mths so under $20/month.

there are reports that say the tocopherols in resveratrol100 can increase hair re-growth by 40%ish i'd love for someone to try it out and report back.

Is that generic product available in Australia? I know you need a prescription. I haven't lost my hair yet but I suspect that I'm heading that way in a few years.

nizoral is a + i can vouche for this...

Resveratrol hasn't brought mine back, I'll let you know about the tocopherols.

Nothing, I have not noticed any extra hair growth anywhere.

Though the tocopherols taste good.

Yeh mate u can get it in australia.its called finasta i think.doctor should give u a script no dramas.

Mate Ive been using 1/4 of a 5mg proscar pill daily and applying generic 5% minoxidil daily for 2 years now. When I started I had a monks patch on my crown the size of a tennis ball. Today its grown back completely. Minoxidil is cheap as on ebay, buy it from a US seller for about $7 a month if you buy in bulk. Proscar was costing me about $95 for 20 5mg pills from the chemist with a docs prescription but now I buy it generic from os.
Proscar and minoxidil are the perfect one two punch and will keep and in my case regrow your hair.
