i had my blood test done the other week because im often completely stuffed by the end of the day.. ive done a few cycles in the past, but nothin for the last 3yrs, was worried my test was low.. anyway the doc said my test level was fine at 23 nmol/L but how good is that really? im thinkin about 40 nmol/L would be bloody good
I'll get a more accurate diagnosis next time now i know what info i should be lookin for

23 is a good result. As ON said, 8-32 is the general range for labs.

depends on the doc. Mine is switched on so I don't have those issues but some other docs you generally have to complain of being run down, tired, low libido etc.

Ok the doc wouldn't allow me to have my testosterone levels checked.
I was lucky to even get a referral for a general health assessment. She wanted a valid reason, wtf!

Anyone know roughly how much it would cost, to have your testosterone levels checked ?
And would you have to go see a GP first, or can you just ring a pathology joint, and book it in ?

    Find a new doctor...
There is no reason why should shouldn't be able to ask for a general health check, including full blood tests, every 6 months, minimum!
Tell your doctor that you want to take a preventative approach to your health care...

By the sounds of things you're not pushing your point enough... I can't imagine a doctor refusing tests for general health purposes if you're adamant that you want them... If they give you that "you look healthy" crap, kindly tell them thank you, but I still want a referral to have my blood work done... With the results sent to your address, not to the doctor...

    +1

Even after all the accusations they still get at least something tested. Perhaps threaten then with a pitchfork lol.
Fear based marketing, gotta love it... Eat too little you'll break your metabolism, funny how lower metabolic rate is linked to longevity.

So, can you go straight to a pathology and get tests done out of your own pocket ?

Well perhaps you're pushing in the wrong way... There's pushing where you sound like a thug who wants the tests done just because... And then there's pushing where you sound like you're somewhat educated on the matter and are actually interested in you own well being...
