    Default My start

Hey, second post, still getting used to this thing.. .

So story is. . I want to bulk up. Yeah I know crazy haha

Basically, how do I achieve this?

    Heres what I got;

    -Gym every second day
-Musashi bulk powder (twice a day)
-Nano Vapor Hardcore Pro series pills (although Im not taking them anymore, make me feel sick)
    -Good amount of rest
-and TRYING to eat but its hard to force myself to eat.

Are these the basic principles of becoming big and bulky? Sound alright?

I just started at the gym, and I can bench 65kg, however this was at the end of my workout, I believe I could do a tiny bit more at the start. My goal is to bench 100kgs, and look super fit and strong.

    Thanks guys

what are your stats? age weight height body fat etc
and what does your current diet look like.
Remember the key is food if you get the training 50-80% right and the food 100% right you'll gain all day everyday for ages.

Food is what you need to grow. Eat the right foods and a lot of it and you'll grow. I'm not talking about fast foods but proper whole foods with plenty of protein. Powders are useful but don't use it as a crutch or a replacement for eating properly. What M1CH43L suggested is appropriate and what most people do but if you can eat properly instead of a shake than do so.

Not sure on body fat, but I am very lean, before weights I did alot of cycling, swimming, rowing and running, so Id have to say my body fat is very low (if that helps haha)..might see if they have a tool at the gym to measure it. .

    My current diet-

Breakfast- bowl of dry museli with nuts, dried fruit and yoghurt.
Lunch- Usually a light sandwich with chicken or tuna in it
Dinner- Usually a meat dish or pasta dish, only 1 plate

And i snack during the day with apples and sandwiches.

How the hell do you guys eat so much?? From searching through the forum it seems alot of bulking up has to do with eating, correct?

Mate, if you want to bulk you definitely need to eat more. Go to this site www.fitday.com to work out how many calories you're consuming. It's free to register. You'll find that it is not enough if you wish to get bigger.

    man.
    read lots.

you need protein every 3 hrs. your body does not store protein and when it needs amino acids it breaks down 'unnecessary' muscle fibres.

    meal 1.
oats and get some whey protein powder, unflavoured.
meal 2. almonds, brown rice and tuna in springwater
meal 3. topside or round steak, sweet potato
meal 4. chicken breast and garden salad no carrots or mayo or dressings.
meal 5. normal evening meal lean steak and veg with some eggs or something
meal 6 b4 bed protein powder or tub of cottage cheese or both.

i would not push your calories over 200 above your daily req's.
drink 3 or 4 litres water a day.

for now multi v, creatine and glutamine.

in a couple of years hit the juice.
i'm just a fucking legend. end of story!

    Also, Whats your budget mate?

Food is definately the key, your eatng stuff all in terms of attempting to bulk.
We eat so much through training, necessity & planning.
5-6 feeds a day is a key, weather its a Meal replacement (protein powder) or actual food.
Add some kind of fruit to the above breakfast also, maybe a banana or some mixed berries would be a good start.

Note that once your body starts getting into the training you will crave all these foods every 1 is mentioning! I get hungry as all fk after training and the whole day after (cos i train in the morn) i spend it looking for the right foods to get into me.

Just a tip, you will need to find a diet that works for you time wise too. preparing food every day for the day ahead can become a pain in the ass!! ill cook for at least 2 days ahead. Bodybuilding diets arent the most adventurous lol but can be tasty once you learn what you're doing.

the boys have given you some solid advice here wishiwasbig, here's what i have to add

    - make sure you get 5-6 meals a day with a source of protein in each one
    - train weights at least 3 times a week - start of with whole body workouts and in 6 months time if you stop growing move to a 2 body-part split
    - Focus on compound movements like squats, deadlifts, bench press etc
    - SLEEP SLEEP SLEEP and then sleep some more, this is probably one of the most important things, sleep is when your body repairs all the muscles you have torn, try to get at least 8 hours a day
    - consistency is also important, if you truly want to be big you have to see bodybuilding as a lifestyle and see yourself doing it for the rest of your life, otherwise give up now!
    - good luck and let's hope you can stop wishing and start being big!!

Holy shit thanks for the helpful responses guys! Much appreciated!

I actually tonight was my first step in the eating department, I had 2 dinners. First one was a Thai curry (chicken, sauce, rice) and the second one was a few hours later, the same dish, both normal serving size.

MoneyMike, sleep department I have that covered mate, currently getting 10hrs roughly (un-employed) haha. Also, with the compound movements, which ones in particular? And would you do them each training session? And you say minimum of 3 session, what would the max be?

CheeseburgerEddie, I look forward, Im really un-imaginative when it comes to food haha

Oh and I gave my bottle of NanoVapor away, that stuff sucks.

I wouldnt do the same exercises every session, id say something like this...

day 1 - Bench press, military press, and dips

day 2 - Bent over rows, clean and press', barbel curls

day 3 - squats or leg press, standing calve raises, and some abs.

that should cover everything, build some good core strength and get you ready for some serious iron pumping.

Well I took Thrasha's advice and worked on bench, dips, barbell curls and overhead press (think thats what its called). . was a good session! Really enoying the bench! I was pumping out 6-7 reps of 50 kilos which Im happy with, did 4 sets.

Also, does anyone know a website that sells cheap bulk powder?

    Agree with Thrasha exercise suggestions...

    - keep it to 3-4 sets of each exercise for 6-8 reps with 1-2 minute rest between each set

    - google exercises if you don't know how to perform an exercise and imitate

    - try to keep your training session within the 45 min-1 hour max

Why does he need to rely on protein powder for 1st meal?
Just down a shitload of eggs.
I buy the egg whites from Woolies.
Use 250ml and 2 whole eggs. Thats about 45-50gms of protein. Add your oats and it makes for a more complete and thorough meal.

Or if you are really keen, have grilled chops or minute steak with fried or poached eggs and oats.

Me personally, I have 250ml eggs whites, 2 whole eggs with chopped spinach scrambled, although I am not bulking. If I was I would then add some oats or similar.

Totally agree about the Musashi crap. Overpriced rubbish. Never tried Nano Vapor, but that's probably overpriced as well.
