In way over my head but we'll give it a go
My story-
I woke up one morning at the begining of January and decided I didn't want to be fat anymore. I have insulin resistance and had my thyroid removed a few years ago so had given up fighting it and let myself go terribly.
Well 6 months on I've lost 26kg, 81cm and gone from a size 26 to an 18. I have also gone from struggling to walk 1km/3 times a week to walking 6kms a day and even jogging some. I have another 44kg to lose and would like to hit a size 10. (BMI has dropped 8points and bf reduced by 10% as well)
Why am I on a body building forum? I'm at the stage where I have to change it up to continue to lose weight. My thyroid medication has been reduced by half so it's harder for me to lose weight again. I need to introduce weights to raise my metabolism and it may even be possible for my to reduce or reverse the insulin resistance with weight training.
My other half has started trying to bulk up and is getting into the whole body building thing so I have to pick up my game. He struggles to gain weight, I struggle to lose it. It's bloody frustrating! We're having weights and a punching bag/speed bag installed on the weekend so the serious stuff starts then. Until then doing lots of squats/dips/pushups and swiss ball type things and trying to learn as much as I possibly can.
