ok still waiting on reply from martin haha...
Mate he's booked out a fair bit. Join him up on Facebook, he posts heaps of articles/tips/etc via Twitter that also updates his Facebook account.
Here is one such article that I thought was very interesting.... (there are some really good arguments/comments below article).

Just to be clear, this isnt one of Martin's articles. But is along an IF type of style - skipping breakfast.
Would be interested if anyone here has any comments.
Also - I've tried an IF style. Didnt really get it to work for me but I havent given up on it yet. 'Tweaking' is where I'm at now. Even Martin admits IF isnt for everyone. I believe I have high cortisol tendencies. So I'm playing around with my fast timings and just doing some trial and error.
determined how has it worked for you so far? I just fear ruining and screwing it up. at moment i am in one of the best positions i have been in a while. just want to lean out a but and find a easier way to eat rather than scoffing at work when i need and feeling sick and not digesting right.
Still trying to find the sweet spot mate. I gave it a rest recently coz I was sick (and I hope it wasnt fasting that made me fall ill!) - but I did have some moments during the fast where I thought 'this is awesome'. You feel wired. Hard to explain.
Yes it is very easy to adopt - thats something I liked immediately. Less of this focus on making sure I had my food for the day. That would stress me out!
If you are in tune with your body you'll know if it is right or not for you. Dont think by adopting IF though that you can eat whatever the fuck you want during your feeding window. Doesnt work like that.
I was trying fasted workouts and I dont think they work well for me. So just changing a few things around slowly to see if I can get it to work.
Take a look also bbc at eat stop eat. Thats more alternate day fasting (so instead of a set window each day - you fast for maybe 2-3 days per week. From dinner one night through to dinner the following night - 24hours).
^ I tend to agree RF - however there are plenty doing fasted workouts and its not having a detrimental affect it seems.
All I know is it didnt suit me. And I think that is the key - find what works for you.
And thats a key statement whether it is IF being discussed or anything with your training/nutrition. Find what works for you.
I agree. I was curious as to whether you had tried eat stop eat and if so how you went.

Ah ok - sorry misunderstood. I tend to think Eat Stop Eat isn't really 'geared' towards bodybuilding/resistance training like IF (Berkhans protocol) is.
However again - I've read that some people keep their fast days on non-training days, then on feed days they weight train. Ensures good nutrition around workouts.
But as we know - you do your growing at rest. So on rest days, you don't eat - not sure how well you'd recover!
Also Berkhan has some interesting thoughts/research around grehlin response linked to GH output. His protocol keeps the fast/feed window fairly regular to get the most benefit from this.
Eat stop sounds a bit tough...
Ok, i have been trying this for a few weeks, more or less maintenance/light cutting cals, so thought id report back for those that are interested. I can attest to these positives;
-appetite is significantly decreased with this approach,
-its nice to actually be full/satisfied with meals, even though your daily totals are the same
-feel more focussed when training
-allows much more variety in meals
the negatives are that;
-shopping probably costs a bit more because of the emphasis on whole foods
-it can actually hard to fit in calories into the post workout window, so bulking on this approach would be very difficult/uncomfortable
overall, i would highly recomend trying this approach out when cutting, to see for yourself, but i do feel it is easier to follow and keep up then the frequent small meal approach.
Apart from the positives you mentioned have you seen an increase in fat loss and in your appearance when compared to more traditional methods?

I would see fat loss has been at least equal to the carb cycling approach to cutting i usually use; however it doesnt feel as if im cutting at all. Therefore, if i was stricter with diet, i think it would be more effective at fat loss than traditional methods.
Most important however is that it is easy to keep to and the calorie zigzagging means you can pursue it for long periods of time without your metabolism slowing down/burning out. Martins approach is intended to be a long term one, and therfore more effective at longterm fat loss.
Cheers
I am still waiting on the guy to get back to me... been like 4 weeks now he he
