I've just knocked up those plans from Mick. The original plans from Mick were dimensioned incorrectly and didn't actually work. I've modified it slightly but think it needs to be higher but narrower.

I'm not a trained draftsperson and the drawings are not dimmed correctly, drawn correctly, nor are they to scale. If anyone actually wants to do this, let me know and I will revise the drawings to something that works better for DIY.

You can then go and cut this yourself with a drop saw and then weld it up. To fabricate would cost around $200-$300. Do it yourself and you're only looking at the cost of the RHS (2 x 6m 2mm Steel) providing you don't fuck any cuts up.

I'll make some revisions and send the plans later. Any suggestions?

Looks pretty good!!! Just make bigger edge distance from hole to edge of plate. say 25mm and 6mm plate. M10 bolts 8.8. 75x75x2 RHS would do it. maybe go a little thicker if you're going to be rough lol. Shit id make it if i was bothered lol. Nice work plex!

Notice the top hole on the angled RHS actually goes through the horizontal 400mm RHS? Ooops. I'd actually make only like 6 holes, you don't need that many.

I'll make the modifications you suggested, thinking of changing the design anyway.

I looked up last night 75x75x3mm is pretty good and comes in 6m lengths. Should be sweet for that. It'll be better than anything you buy for cheap on ebay that's for sure.

Needs to be painted also (unless you want fully stainless steel $$$).

Do yourself a favor and buy 'duragal'. That way you can just brush off the welds and either gal stick it or just cold gal then silver gal them. I think a can of cold gal and silver gal are like $10 each. No need to paint only welds

Yeah I know about duragal; dunno why i didn't think of it. Bit of a weird finish though for gym equipment though don't you think? Might be good for something different.

sounds pretty easy for someone with welding knowledge.
i'm making a seated preacher curl myself out of timber today, its raining so no work, and i cant be fucked doing the other odds n ends around the joint.
coming together nicely just with a handsaw, nails, hammer, drill and screws.
need more screws so i will post it up when i finish.

Mate, some of those plans are a bit dangerous, imo.

The bench press has two stands for the bar to sit on? Hardly stable in my view. Surely having them attached to the bench would make it more stable?

hahaha i just noticed that 1. You'd just go the olymic version bench but modify it so you can go incline and decline.

the clown i won the squat rack from on ebay listed it as free postage, then when i won it cracked a wobbly cos i wouldn't drive to sydney to get it. wanker.
refunded me anyways which is always good i guess.
i found this one on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....:WNARL:AU:1123 but the user weight is 110kg, any self respecting juicer is gonna cream that, why even build a squat rack that can only take 110kg's.
