Thread: Resveratrol - Method of Delivery

Okay so most of you know by now i'm taking Resveratrol orally in the form of Sustain Alpha Liqua Vade. Regardless of what you think of Resveratrol, the jury is still out on this one.

After some research on the subject, the most effective method of delivery seems to be buccal delivery, like a spray or losenge to be sucked on and absorbed through the mouth. Here's what wikipedia had to say:

• Buccal delivery (holding in the mouth then swallowed). 1mg Resveratrol in 50ml solution held in mouth for 1min before swallowing. 37 ng/ml of free resveratrol were measured in plasma two minutes later. Amazing.
  
• Swallowed Pill delivery. Trace amounts less than 5 ng/ml of free unchanged Resveratrol can be found in the blood after 25mg dose.

It's worth noting, to get the same level of unchanged resveratrol in blood by oral pill compared with buccal delivery, you need 250 mg of resveratrol. Ie. 250:1 ratio pill:buccal.

The pill forms i've seen are 500mg resveratrol, which would only equate to 2mg of resveratrol taken buccal delivery. Sustain Alpha contains 100mg of resveratrol which is clearly alot higher.

I'm taking 100mg twice a day orally holding in the mouth for a few mins. If 1mg Resveratrol equates to 37 ng resveratrol in the blood, then 100mg would equate to .0037mg or 3700 ng in the blood. Compared with a 500mg pill which only results in 84 ng in the blood.

So from what I have read, and can deduce based on alot of assumptions; Sustain Alpha appears to be the best form of Resveratrol you can get.

Now to sit back and wait for any signs of improvement.

Im one of the suckers (it now seems) taking resveratrol orally/pill form. Will be following your thread Plexus.

What brand are you taking? It's important to make sure you're getting 98% Resveratrol or Trans-Resveratrol. Trans-Resveratrol is what is beneficial from Resveratrol. Also, alot of Resveratrol has emodin (laxative) in it.

(Still researching on this stuff).

with the pill/capsule form you can keep it in the mouth until it disolves and absorbs.

Lot of products sells resveratrol in market but only few accredited by other health organization that you can assure you’re buying a right product. I got one, it really build my confidence and made me continue to work out.

Plus it made my skin lighter and kills dead skin. Good body plus skin is a WIN WIN!
