Id suggest this as a good running example/schedule:

mon 5am or 6pm = fast 6km (wait 45mins before eating for dinner at 7.30pm etc)
    tues off
wed 5am or 6pm = slower 10km *2.5hrs after eating medium size meal as a minimum
    thurs off
fri 5am = medium pace 8km (empty stomach)
sat late arvo/night 5km medium and 1km sprint
    sun off
So thats optimal healing potential between each run + stretching is a pretty good running program i reckon. Might copy and paste this into the cardio thread :P Cheers,

Got in 5km run yest plus 1.5km power walk followed by 4.5km hill run on treadmill 11km all up (around 1100cals yeah). Did 350cals power walking at 6.4km/h on 12deg tonight just before weights. Worked well, i was very warmed up :P

oh well level 8 is better than i can do at the moment hey- given the fact i did 31.6km last october and now cant even do 5km run (knees playing up again) grrrr. Missing it tremendously. Giving the bike a go in the morn but gotta watch it- no standing up loading the pedals on hills etc gotta stay seated and torque through it in a high easier pedal cog.

Speaking of cardio apart from intense short rest weights and pushing the brushcutter hard- i havent done any running in 10days missed it big time! Also miss the cal defecit that a decent jog gives you. 10km is like say 850cals burnt, so say 450cals of glucose and 400cals of fat stores. Been giving knees and ankle a break id rolled over on my ankles a bit getting off road when cars came and over trained em considering the terrain. Got a 1/2 marathon in just under 7weeks. Heal up dammit. Patience young grass hopper haha. Aiming for a good 30day with prep 3 runs a week mon, wed, fri say 7km, 10km, 13km will give me 30km in 3 runs. Then i'll throw in a 14km and 17km run in before the race. Day before carb up will be fun will eat 3000cals for stored glucose and mainly pasta and salty foods and olives, a drinking coconut etc so im stocked up. Hoping to break 98mins for 21km if my knee lets me.
