    Default Training with Chains

Anyone here ever trained with chains?
I've never done it as its never been available or purchased but always wondered what it would be like.

I can see the benefits i'd love to one day give it ago.

There is also a 30-50k digital smith machine that you can buy...lol that digitally does it for you ie lower 120kg raise 100kg once you reach a certain point. Or the opposite if you switch it like that lower 100kg and raise 120kg.

I hope that digital smith falls in a fire along with every other smith machine.

The PTC blokes probably have some chains and bands. I'm sure theres some other small powerlifting gyms around that would have them too.

I want to give some chains a go on strict overhead press.

@TheSwollenGoat have you use one of these digital smith machines...lol
in theory they sound good but if thats not the case then yeah.

overhead presses with chains sound good too.
only problem my gym only has 50kg dumbell and im already getting someone to hold 4x 5kg plates on top of this.....no pussy reps all the way down 99% the way up.
i should take a video one day its sight to see.

@O.N. Nah, I haven't used the digital smith, I'm just not a fan of smiths haha. Rack + bar + weights I'm glad I don't have to go to a gym.

You should petition your gym to get heavier dumbells haha. You could always move to barbell press? Or do you have shoulder issues?

There were some BIG weights pressed back in the day.

@TheSwollenGoat nah no shoulder issues im talking about the overhead dumbell extension, should not have said press, we all call it something different...lol

70kg like this have done 81.5kg with a proper dumbell back in the day for 6 non girly reps all the way down 99% the way up.

Ahhh, I see. I've never done them. I might add something like that in on Friday with a kettlebell. I've been meaning to add in some tricep iso but by the end of my workout I usually couldn't be fucked haha.

My sticking point for overhead press is just above my head, so I think chains would be beneficial for that.

yeah well triceps should be a staple in your training if they are stronger all pressing movements will be stronger.
