Default DVD Review - Troy Alves "Resurrection"

Not long went out and bought the new Troy Alves DVD, I was kinda looking forward to it for one reason that it got sold out of GMV pretty much as soon as it came out, and also for the fact that it was over 5 hours long (I like the behind the scenes/lifestyle bits). I only just finished watching the first disk, and FARK me was it hard not turning it off! His training is so slow, he talks between every set, and when he does talk, he just drags on and on and on!! Seriously it takes him about 10 minutes to make his point. I think the first disk must have been half him talking, and to be honest, he is very carb depleted on a low carb diet, so it makes it very hard to watch, and so easy to fall asleep (yeah I did nod off twice lol).
Apart from the way the guy comes across, he does have a reasonable physique, he is in awesome condition and he's not a bad bloke. But he does come across pretty "cocky", and quite a few times resembles Ronnie with his little sayings and actions (between set type things).
Overall this DVD was a good one to add to my collection. The training is not that hardcore or even full on (the only time I was impressed was when he Incline Smith Benched 4 plates), the talking is really docile, monotonous and boring and the content so far is ok as far as lifestyle, seminar and workouts.
I have still yet to watch the second disk, and I'm a little more excited about putting it in the player cause he's working arms and back, and has guest posing and more lifestyle stuff on it. But having watched the DVD this far, and can pretty much say that I would have bought a different DVD when I was at GMV, maybe Kia Greene's new one, or FST-7, who knows.

Feel free to share your opinions if you've seen this one!!!

    Cheers.

Thanks for the review. I was thinking of buying this DVD also but I think I'll wait for Cutler's "Undisputed" or Dexter's "Unbreakable". By the way I would recommend the FST-7 Defined DVD. It's a good explanation of Rambod's programme and it's interesting to see how little Cutler actually eats which contradicts what he claims on his website.

Lol, I'm usually not that fussy to be honest, I can watch every one of Jay's DVD'd over and over, but I was a little disappointed. But as I see it, its another addition to my collection, which is getting quite substantial at the moment!!

I found this link on another board for Kai Greene's new 3 part DVD "A New Breed." Apparently BB.com in running this as a series over 5 episodes (??) so for those that don't want to buy it, I assume that they can view it over that period It cover's Kai prep from his win at the Arnold in 2009 to his prep for the Olympia.

One drawback is that they run MuscleMed ads throughout the clip and the narrator talks to much... argghhhhhhh.

I just got Kai Greene's DVD and watched it last night. I'll write review of it later if anyone is interested. I can tell you it was VERY worth the money...

I'm definitely interested. I'm assuming this is the Overkill DVD?
